Lesser burdock Look at those hooks - this burr attaches itself to animal fur and clothing to achieve dispersal. Greater burdock looks very similar, but is bigger and more vicious!

Hogweed seed - Warnham Nature Reserve These come on umbels. The plant grows a few feet tall, unlike giant hogweed, which can grow to a couple of metres and can give very unpleasant skin reactions, expecially in sunlight. |

This seed was spotted in a pondwater sample from Warnham Nature Reserve. The hairs allow it to float in the water surface film for dispersal. What plant is it, though? |
